Google appears to be working on Windows 10 certification for its Pixelbook

It appears Google is working on adding a little Microsoft flavor to its flagship Chromebook. Google’s Pixelbook is considered to be its flagship device for Chrome OS, but it could soon have a little Microsoft DNA sprinkled in as well. This is a great partnership in my opinion those chrome books were never one of my favorite products.  I would much have something with Windows 10

Chime in: Are you confident in Microsoft’s future consumer strategy?

After Windows 8 and Windows 10’s both being fails, i am not confident with anything from Microsoft whatsoever.

Is Microsoft keeping up with the times? Microsoft has faced a fair share of criticism for its consumer-facing efforts, dropping products across several categories over recent years. With Windows Phone and Groove Music prime examples of products failing to resonate with consumers, the company is gaining a reputation for failing to support its long-term followers. While Microsoft is commended for many of its top products, others in its wide portfolio fall short of the competition. The Microsoft Edge browser misses notable features seen across Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, with several competitors overshadowing its market share. One Windows Central forum user drew attention to Edge’s downfalls, which led to them leaving the browser behind. Chime in: Are you confident in Microsoft’s future consumer strategy?

Toward the end of 2012, analysts identified a near zero percent unemployment rate in the cyber security industry with thousands of vacant positions. Now, the industry is on track to reach near two million open cyber security positions with no qualified employees to fill the gap. On the other side of the equation, attacks are on the rise. Today’s $8.5 billion/year antivirus market is broken, with 70 percent of threats going undetected and cybercrime damages expected to double by 2021 and reach $6 trillion. There is an obvious problem with how we approach cyber security, but blockchain may help revise the infosec hiring model, make cyber security more efficient, and decrease the impact of malicious attacks globally. Federal Jury Convicts Cybercriminal for Operating Counter-Antivirus Service

totalsecuritydailyadvisor.blr.com reveals the truth about this interesting news story.

Over the past few years, the ubiquity of cryptocurrency has made cybercrime easier to monetize. The promise of a quick buck has attracted would-be cybercriminals who lack the traditional skill set required to engage in anything beyond a low-level hack. Much like their aboveboard capitalist counterparts, black market entrepreneurs have stepped in to fill that skills gap. In doing so, they have created a burgeoning cybercrime-as-a-service (CAAS) marketplace. PeopleImages / E+ / Getty Images On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, the Department of Justice released a statement announcing the conviction of one of the larger CAAS operators of the past decade. Microsoft Patch Tuesday, May 2018 Edition

Microsoft today released a bundle of security updates to fix at least 67 holes in its various Windows operating systems and related software, including one dangerous flaw that Microsoft warns is actively being exploited. Meanwhile, as it usually does on Microsoft’s Patch Tuesday — the second Tuesday of each month — Adobe has a new Flash Player update that addresses a single but critical security weakness. First, the Flash Tuesday update, which brings Flash Player to v. 29.0.0.171. Some (present company included) would argue that Flash Player is in itself “a single but critical security weakness.” Nevertheless, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer/Edge ship with their own versions of Flash, which get updated automatically when new versions of these browsers are made available. Working in I.T. for almost 20 years a very important question that I run into daily is regarding computer security.  Back in 2000 viruses were the main problem that we had to worry about.  Now there are so many more threats to worry about.  It’s important to stay current with your windows update and antivirus software.

Following poor Always Connected PC reviews, Microsoft distances itself from Qualcomm and ARM

Early reviews for the first Always Connected PCs are uninspiring, and Microsoft seems to be downplaying the association with Windows 10 on Qualcomm Snapdragon ARM processors. In the wake of criticisms of the performance of Windows 10 on ARM-based Always Connected PCs (ACPCs), Microsoft’s Windows general manager Erin Chapple downplayed the position of these devices in the category during a techradar interview. “We’re about choice in the ecosystem and working across our partners,” she said, as she stressed that ARM-based ACPCs are not the only devices in that category. As a provider of tools others use, this spin sounds consistent with the company’s mission. I say “spin” because Microsoft’s messaging beginning in December 2016 regarding its new cellular PC category has been inextricably intertwined with the company’s partnership with Qualcomm and Windows 10 on Snapdragon ARM processors. The partnership’s a synergy of Microsoft’s evolving of Windows for the Following poor Always Connected PC reviews, Microsoft distances itself from Qualcomm and ARM
